NIRF India Ranking 2019

The  National Institutional Ranking Framework was first evolved during 2014-15 by a 16 member Core Committee under the chairmanship of Secretary, appointed by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India. Keeping the vast landscape of higher education in mind, the NIRF devised separate rankings for different streams and categories. This led to the rankings of management, engineering, pharmacy, architecture as well as general colleges and universities. From 2017, an overall ranking was also introduced. Only institutes having more than 1000 students enrolled were considered for overall ranking.

The final framework was based on 15-18 parameters clubbed in 5 major groups. These parameters are similar to the ones which are globally accepted. The parameters which were originally identified in 2016 have received some minor changes in 2019.
