Educational Qualification

Special Management Executive: Candidates should have successfully completed their CA/ ICWA/ ACS/ MBA in Finance or 2 years PG Diploma in Finance from a recognized institute approved by the Government bodies/AICTE. However, the course should only be of 2 years full time duration. Course completed through correspondence/part-time are not eligible are not eligible to apply.

Deputy General Manager (Law): Candidates should have done a 3 years/ 5 years law degree from a recognized Indian University.

Deputy General Manager (Law): Candidates should have done a 3 years/ 5 years law degree from a recognized Indian University. Post Graduate degree in Law will be given more preference.

Deputy Manager (Law): Candidates should have done a 3 years/ 5 years law degree from a recognized Indian University.

Post Qualification Experience (As on 31st December 2018)

Special Management Executive (Regular):
  • Candidates should have a minimum 5 years of post qualification experience (as on 31st December 2017) as an Executive in Supervisory/ Management role:
    a. In a Scheduled Commercial Bank/ Associate or Subsidiary of a Scheduled Commercial Bank.
    OR
    b. In a Public Sector or listed Financial Institution/ Company.
Deputy General Manager (Law):
  • Candidates having experience in processing of credit proposals are preferred.
  • They should be enrolled as Advocate with the Bar Council of India
  • Candidates having a minimum 17 years of experience as Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks OR Financial Institutions OR Asset Reconstruction Company OR combined experience as Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Bank and Asset Reconstruction Company and having extensive experience in Recovery & Rehabilitation.
  • The experience should be after enrolment as advocate with Bar Council.
Deputy General Manager (Law):
  • Candidates should be enrolled as Advocates with the Bar Council of India. They should have a minimum experience of 17 years as Law Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks and holding the post of Assistant General Manager (Law) or equivalent in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Bank for a minimum of 3 years.
Deputy Manager (Law):
  • Candidates should be enrolled as Advocates with the Bar Council of India. They should have a minimum of 4 years of experience as practicing Advocate OR Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks OR 4 years combined experience as practicing advocate and Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks.

SBI SO 2019 Selection Process

A. Special Management Executive & Deputy General Manager (Law) (both regular & contractual):

The candidates will be selected on the basis of shortlisting of application forms followed by an interview. The shortlisting of the applications depends upon the candidate's qualification, suitability, experience etc. The total marks allotted for the interview is 50.

B. Deputy Manager (Law):

The candidates will be selected on the basis of an online test followed by an interview.

Note: Except Professional Knowledge (PK) paper, other papers will be qualifying in nature. Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks in these papers.

Interview:
Adequate number of candidates, as decided by the Bank, will be called for Interview.
Total Marks: 50

The qualifying marks for the interview will be as decided by the Bank.

SBI SO 2019 Merit list

Marks secured by the candidates in Interview out of 50 marks will be converted to out of 25 marks. The final merit list will be arrived at after aggregating the marks of Professional Knowledge test out of 100 marks and the interview marks (converted to out of 25 marks (Total- 125 marks). The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

SBI SO 2019 Application fees

  • General and OBC candidates: Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only)
  • SC/ ST/ PWD candidates: Rs. 100/- (Rupees One hundred only)
Note: The application fees has to be paid online using internet banking/credit/debit card. The fees once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.

Special Management Executive (Regular)

  1. Monitoring of accounts in SMA category and devising strategies for their up-gradation, if required.
  2. Checking the viability of resolution plans.
  3. Support for resolution of accounts through NCLT.
  4. Contribution towards reduction in budgeted provisioning.
  5. Resolution/ Rehabilitation of credit facilities including rectification and restructuring by keeping DGM (ARC), DGM (NCLT), DGM (OTS), DGM (SARG - Retail) and DGM (SARG - Commercial) in the loop wherever necessary.
  6. Guide branches for the implementation of resolution plan.
  7. To be aware about the latest developments in the respective sector through comprehensive industry analysis and research with the overall purpose of enhancing the quality of resolution.
  8. To advise branches in business verticals about the observed shortcomings in the proposals due to which there was slippage in the asset quality.
  9. Assist in taking decision with respect to resolution/ recovery and what mode of resolution/ recovery should be initiated and perform account reviews with the Top Management and assist in taking decision with respect to resolution/ recovery and what mode of resolution/ recovery should be initiated.
  10. Any other work/ responsibility that may be assigned, from time to time, by the Bank.

Deputy General Manager (Law) (Contractual)

  1. To assist in empanelment of lawyers, insolvency professionals etc.
  2. Following up all the Insolvency, Debt Recovery cases.
  3. Knowledge in laws relating to Take-Over/ Merger/Amalgamation of Corporates.
  4. Vetting a Resolution Plan particularly in the context of provisions of IBC related law/ judgments.
  5. Verifying the legal correctness of Information Memorandum (IM) and other such documents and guiding the operational units whenever necessary.
  6. Guiding and advising sectoral teams, branches and other functionaries on queries regarding legal matters as and when required.
  7. Expertise in understanding and analyzing Sector Specific ConcessionAgreement with variousAuthorities and the impact/ repercussions thereof.
  8. Offering opinion on restructuring of Corporate/ Infrastructure projects under prevalent legal provisions.
  9. Analysing, drawing and negotiating various kinds of agreements including ResolutionAgreements/ SaleAgreements for FinancialAssets/ Inter-Creditor agreements etc.
  10. Handling matters relating to Corporate Debt Restructuring/ Strategic Debt Restructuring/ Scheme for Strategic Structuring of Stressed Assets ( S forA) and other forms of restructuring.
  11. Familiarity with Insolvency Laws, Debt Recovery laws, SARFAESIAct and current trends, updates and issues in the field.
  12. Drawing of Loan Restructure Documents/ Master Debt Recast and Restructuring Agreement etc.
  13. Handling any other matter referred to for legal opinion/ advice.
  14. Any other work/ responsibility that may be assigned, from time to time, by the Bank.

Deputy General Manager (Law) (Regular)

  1. Supporting and developing the in-house legal team
  2. Supporting operational functionaries in conduct of litigations by and against the organization and attending the court or tribunal or any judicial/ quasi-judicial forum, whenever required.
  3. Coordinating and Instructing other advocates and professionals wherever necessary
  4. Coordinating with self-governing bodies/ regulatory authorities/statutory authorities on issues involving legal aspects
  5. For effective litigation management, mapping out strategies in coordination with the relevant operational functionaries
  6. Supporting the operational functionaries in understanding and mitigating the legal risk in contracts, negotiations, deals, projects etc.
  7. Analysing, drafting, vetting and negotiating agreements, contracts, deeds or documents required in the course of business
  8. Offering opinion on various legal issues including those related to recovery, restructuring, resolution etc.
  9. Disseminating knowledge on relevant legal issues and developments to the operational functionaries and, if required, suggesting/ initiating necessary changes in the policy, procedure or functioning of the organization.
  10. Keeping oneself updated and also, wherever necessary, briefing the top management of the organization about the latest legal developments
  11. Providing analytical and comprehensive in-house legal service across a broad range of legal issues (including those involving the affiliates of organization)
  12. Any other work/ responsibility that may be assigned, from time to time, by the Bank.

Deputy Manager (Law) (Regular)

  1. Title investigation of property and matter related thereto, if the individual is posted in specialised units identified for home loans or real-estate related advances/ loans.
  2. Instructing and coordinating with advocates and other professionals wherever necessary.
  3. Coordinating with the statutory authorities/ regulatory authorities/ self-governing bodies on issues involving legal aspects.
  4. Keeping oneself updated about the latest legal developments and disseminating knowledge on the same to the operational functionaries.
  5. Supporting the operational functionaries in understanding and mitigating the legal risk in contracts, negotiations, deals, projects etc. and in conduct of litigations including attending the judicial/ quasi-judicial forum, whenever required.
  6. Offering opinion on various legal issues, drafting, vetting and negotiating agreements, contracts, deeds or documents.
  7. Provide legal opinion in respect of other related areas as and when sought, on an ongoing basis.
  8. Co-ordinate with Bank's empanelledAdvocates and also the legal teams of Builders for quick disposal of proposals.
  9. Determining acceptability of the title to the immovable properties offered as security (primary OR Collateral OR both).
  10. Submission/ Scrutiny of Title Verification Report as per Bank's Format
  11. Ensuring availability / compliance of legal/ statutory clearances/ dues.
  12. Verification/ Vetting of documents in connection with Title Verification.
  13. Obtaining Certificate of Encumbrances from relevant offices.
  14. Conducting search of records at Registrar Office, Court and related offices as well as conducting online ROC searches.
  15. Scrutiny of property documents to ascertain devolution of title.
  16. Any other work/ responsibility that may be assigned, from time to time, by the Bank.
