SBI SO Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Special Management Executive: 30-40 years
- Deputy General Manager: 42-52 years
- Deputy General Manager: 42-52 years
- Deputy Manager: 25-35
Age Relaxation
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- Persons Ordinarily domiciled of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989: 5 years
- PWD (SC/ST): 15 Years
- PWD (OBC): 13 Years
- PWD (Gen): 10 Years
- Ex Servicemen, Commissioned officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment: 5 years
Educational Qualification
Special Management Executive: Candidates should have successfully completed their CA/ ICWA/ ACS/ MBA in Finance or 2 years PG Diploma in Finance from a recognized institute approved by the Government bodies/AICTE. However, the course should only be of 2 years full time duration. Course completed through correspondence/part-time are not eligible are not eligible to apply.
Deputy General Manager (Law): Candidates should have done a 3 years/ 5 years law degree from a recognized Indian University.
Deputy General Manager (Law): Candidates should have done a 3 years/ 5 years law degree from a recognized Indian University. Post Graduate degree in Law will be given more preference.
Deputy Manager (Law): Candidates should have done a 3 years/ 5 years law degree from a recognized Indian University.
Post Qualification Experience
Special Management Executive (Regular):
- Candidates should have a minimum 5 years of post qualification experienceas an Executive in Supervisory/ Management role:
a. In a Scheduled Commercial Bank/ Associate or Subsidiary of a Scheduled Commercial Bank.
OR
b. In a Public Sector or listed Financial Institution/ Company.
Deputy General Manager (Law):
- Candidates having experience in processing of credit proposals are preferred.
- They should be enrolled as Advocate with the Bar Council of India
- Candidates having a minimum 17 years of experience as Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks OR Financial Institutions OR Asset Reconstruction Company OR combined experience as Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Bank and Asset Reconstruction Company and having extensive experience in Recovery & Rehabilitation.
- The experience should be after enrolment as advocate with Bar Council.
Deputy General Manager (Law):
- Candidates should be enrolled as Advocates with the Bar Council of India. They should have a minimum experience of 17 years as Law Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks and holding the post of Assistant General Manager (Law) or equivalent in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Bank for a minimum of 3 years.
Deputy Manager (Law):
- Candidates should be enrolled as Advocates with the Bar Council of India. They should have a minimum of 4 years of experience as practicing Advocate OR Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks OR 4 years combined experience as practicing advocate and Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks.
SBI SO Selection Process
A. Special Management Executive & Deputy General Manager (Law) (both regular & contractual):
The
candidates will be selected on the basis of shortlisting of application
forms followed by an interview. The shortlisting of the applications
depends upon the candidate's qualification, suitability, experience etc.
The total marks allotted for the interview is 50.
B. Deputy Manager (Law):
The candidates will be selected on the basis of an online test followed by an interview.

Note: Except
Professional Knowledge (PK) paper, other papers will be qualifying in
nature. Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks in these
papers.
Interview:
Adequate number of candidates, as decided by the Bank, will be called for Interview.
Total Marks: 50
The qualifying marks for the interview will be as decided by the Bank.
SBI SO Merit list
Marks
secured by the candidates in Interview out of 50 marks will be
converted to out of 25 marks. The final merit list will be arrived at
after aggregating the marks of Professional Knowledge test out of 100
marks and the interview marks (converted to out of 25 marks (Total- 125
marks). The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates
in each category.
