NIACL Assistants Recruitment 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/Citizenship

(a)  A candidate must either be:
i. an Indian citizen, or
ii. a subject of Nepal, or
iii. a subject of Bhutan, or
iv. a Tibetan refugee who has come to India, before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling down in India, or
v. an Indian origin person who has migrated from Vietnam, Ethiopia, Zaire, Malawi, Zambia, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, East African Countries of Kenya, Sri Lanka, Burma and Pakistan with the intention of permanently settling down in India.
vi. The Government of India should issue a certificate in favor of the candidate belonging to the categories (b), (c), (d) and (e)
The candidates have to submit the eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India during Document Verification. Failing which their candidature shall stand cancelled.

Age Limit

i. The age of the candidates should be between 21 to 30 years as on 30th June 2018. Candidates should not be  born earlier than 1st July 1988 and not later than 30th June.

ii. There is relaxation in the upper age limit of the candidates as under:

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (eligible for reservation): 3 years
  • Persons With Disability: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen Actual period of service rendered in the defense forces
  • 3 years subject to maximum of 45 years.
  • Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried: 5 years
  • Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the 6 State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89: 5 years
  • Existing Employees of The New India Assurance Co.Ltd.: 5 years

Educational Qualification (as on date of application registration)

  1. Candidates should have successfully completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

  2. The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/Intermediate/ Graduation level. Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination as on date of application registration.
It is essential that the candidates has the knowledge of Regional Language of the State for which he/she has applied

NIACL Assistants Recruitment 2018 Pre-Examination Training (Non-Residential)

The candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories who wish to avail the benefit of pre-examination training may register their names and other details with the Regional offices of New India Assurance Co Ltd., convenient to them.

NIACL Assistants Recruitment Exam 2018 Selection Procedure

Candidates are selected on the basis of an on-line tests (Preliminary & Main Examination).

Tier I: Preliminary Examination:

The Preliminary Examination is an online objective test conducted for 100 marks. The duration of the test is one-hour and will consist of 3 sections as follows:

Test of Numerical Ability

The test paper will be made available in both English & Hindi language, except for the test of English Language. Candidates are required to qualify in each test by securing the passing marks to be decided by the Company.

Tier II : Main Examination:

The Main Examination is will be an online objective test.

The test paper will be made available in both English & Hindi language, except for the test of English Language. Candidates are required to qualify in each test by securing the passing marks to be decided by the Company. Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination will be further shortlisted for Regional Language Test before the final selection.

No separate marks will be awarded for Regional Language Test. This test will be only qualifying in nature. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the online Main examination subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test.

Note: In case of equal marks scored by the last two or more candidates in the merit list, the candidate senior most in age will be shortlisted for further process of recruitment.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both - Preliminary and Main examination)
One fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted for wrong answers. However, no marks will be deducted for un-attempted questions.

NIACL Assistants Recruitment Exam 2018 Regional Language Test

Candidates who successfully clear the main examination will subsequently be called for Regional Language Test to be conducted by the Company, at selected centres. The name and address of the Centre, time & date of this test will be informed to the shortlisted candidates through the website
