Territorial Army Civilian Candidates Recruitment
The Territorial Army (TA) is a part of Regular Army. The main role of
the TA is to relieve the Regular Army from static duties and assist
civil administration in dealing with natural calamities and maintenance
of essential services in situations where life of the communities is
affected or the security of the Country is threatened and to provide
units for Regular Army as and when required.
The Territorial
Army at present has a strength of approx. 40000 persons comprising of
Departmental TA units such as ONGC, IOC, Railway and Non Departmental TA
units of Infantry Battalion (TA) including Home & Hearth
Battalions, Ecological Battalion (TA) affiliated to various Infantry
Regiments and Engineer Regiment (TA) for maintenance of Line of Control
Fencing.
Training Duration:
- One month Basic Training in the first year of commission.
- Two months Annual Training Camp every year including the first year.
TA Civilian Candidates Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Only male citizens of India.
Age: The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 42 years as on the date of applying
Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have successfully completed their Graduate from any recognized university.
Physical Standards: A candidate must be both mentally and physically fit in all respects.
Employment: Gainfully Employed.
TA Civilian Candidates Selection Procedure
- Candidates whose application forms are found correct will be called for screening (written exam followed by interview only if passed in written exam) by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB), by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters.
- Successful candidates will further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.
Medical Examination
Recommended candidates appear before the medical board for carrying out
their medical board after the SSB results. It takes 4 to 5 days time
for the concerned Military Hospital to complete the medical board and
after that the candidates are dispersed.
Fee DetailsCandidates’ are required to pay a fee of Rs 200/- (Rupees two hundred only).
TA Civilian Candidates Exam Pattern
Type of Exam: Objective (OMR Answer Sheet will be used).
Paper - I
Subject: Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics
Nos. of Questions: 50 50
Marks: 100
Paper - II
Subject: General Knowledge and English
Nos. of Questions: 50 50
Marks: 100
Time:
Maximum time for each paper is 02 hrs and will be conducted in two
sessions from 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs and 14:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs.
Qualifying
Marks: The candidates should score a minimum of 40% marks in each paper
separately and have an overall average of 50% to qualify.
Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There will be penalty imposed for wrong answers marked by a candidate as under:-
There
will be four possible answers to every question. For each question for
which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, half of the mark
assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
If
a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong
answer even if one of the given answers happens to be correct. Penalty
will be imposed as above.
No marks will be deducted for un-attempted questions.

While filling in the Application Form, the candidate should carefully decide about his choice for the centre for the examination.
Candidates should note that no request for change of centre will be granted.
Candidates in their own interest are advised to keep a copy of print out of filled form submitted online.
TA Civilian Candidates Admit Card
The admit card will be made available online for being downloaded after submission of application by the candidates.
