The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) appoints women into into officer cadre only. Following positions are offered

Assistant Commandant (GD)-SSA

Women officers are appointed as Assistant Commandant in General Duty (GD) branch on Short Service Appointment for a period of 8 years. This tenure is further extendable up to 10 years and then up to 14 years.

Age Limit: Female candidates between 21 to 25 years of age are eligible to apply. Relaxation is age limit up to 5 years is applicable for SC/ST candidates and up to 3 years for OBC category candidates.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University. Candidate must have studied Mathematics and Physics up to Class 12th standard.

Physical Standard
  • Height 152cms,
  • Weight Proportionate to Height,
  • Eye sight 6/6 & 6/9 without glasses

Assistant Commandant (GD-P-CPL) SSA

Women officers are appointed in General Duty Branch (Pilot - Commercial Pilot License - Short Service Appointment) on Short Service Appointment for a period of 8 years. This tenure is further extendable up to 10 years and then up to 14 years.

Age Limit: Female candidates between 19 to 25 years of age are eligible to apply. Relaxation is age limit up to 5 years is applicable for SC/ST candidates and up to 3 years for OBC category candidates.

Educational Qualification: 12th or equivalent and should possess current Commercial Pilot License on the date of submission of application.

Physical Standard: Height Min 162.5 cms Max 197 cm, Leg Length Min 99 cms, Weight Proportionate to Height, Eye sight 6/6 without glasses.
