National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla

The National Defence Academy (NDA) is a Military Academy of Indian Armed Forces established in 7 December 1954. It’s a general purpose academy to provide training for cadets willing to join Army, Navy or Air Force. After receiving a course training here cadets are pre-commissioned to IMA, INA or AFA based on choices. The campus of NDA is spread over 7015 acres of land are at Khadakwasla, near Pune in Maharashtra, India. The academy has the honor of producing 27 Chiefs of Army Staff till date. Alumni also includes 3 Param Vir Chakra and 12 Ashok Chakra receipents.
The National Defence Academy Khadakwasla is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The academy works on the mission to nurture young leaders for the services of Indian Armed Forces and Forces of Friendly countries. The syllabus here includes science, technology, arts and military subjects. NDA offers a three year course split over 6 semesters. Bachelor’s degree is awarded from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The course training also includes physical conditioning like drill, swimming, horse riding, full gamut of games and adventure activities.
The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is integral part of NDA Khadakwasla. Here cadets learn subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Comp Sc, English, Foreign Language, Hindi, Humanitites (Services & Civilians).
Admission to NDA are offered on the basis of NDA and NA Examination administered by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India. Candidates selected in written test are called for SSB Interview for final selection.
