EFI: Employers’ Federation of India

The Employers’ Federation of India (EFI) is an association of autonomous organizations of industry. It was established in 1933 with the purpose of protecting, promoting and championing the interests of employers mainly in the area of human resources, industrial relations, labour problems and cognate matters.

EFI is one of the 12 government recognized Employers’ organization in India and represents Indian employers at –
- International Labour Organization (ILO) in India and at Head quarters in Geneva
- International Organization of Employers (IOE) - a world body of employers in Geneva
- International Labour Conference (ILC)
- South Asian Forum of Employers (SAFE)

EFI has kept pace with the changing business scenario and has provided need-based services to the employers in India. Employers’ Federation of India plays a special role as an apex body of employers’ organizations and industries on matters concerning labour, human resource management, industrial relations and other related issues.
The Federation participates in the deliberations of statutory and non-statutory bodies such as: Employees State Insurance Corporation, Employees Provident Fund Organization, Contract Labour Advisory Boards, Workers Education Schemes and other institutions of education and science.

Employers’ Federation of India Membership Details

The EFI memberships are of three types:

Association Membership:

Any industry Association/Chamber of Commerce, whose members employ people, can become the members of the Federation. Subscription fee is minimum Rs 16,400 /- p.a. to maximum Rs. 40,000/- p.a.

Ordinary Membership:

Individual firms and companies are eligible to become its ordinary members.

The Member Subscription pattern is as follows:
Large Size: More than 100 crores and/or more than 100 employees whichever is higher
Subscription Fees: Rs. 16,400 or Rs. 5.00 per employee p.a. whichever is higher subject to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000 p.a.

Medium Size: Rs 21 – 100 crores and/or more than 25 employees, but less than 1000, whichever is less
Subscription Fees: Rs. 11,400 p.a.

Small Size: Up to Rs. 21 crores
Subscription Fees: Rs. 6,400 p.a.

Honorary Membership:

Distinguished professionals from the human resources management field and Labour Law Experts are invited to be honorary members. Rs. 2,600 p.a. is the subscription fee.
