UGC - NET December

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of UGC, for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges. Traditionally, the UGC-NET is conducted twice a year, in June and in December.

Till June 2018, the CBSE was conducting the NET in 84 subjects at 91 selected Cities of spread across the country. However, from Dec 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET (for Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both), will be conducted by the NTA.

The award of Eligibility for Assistant Professor only OR JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both depends upon the candidate's performance in both the papers of NET in aggregate. However, those candidates who qualify exclusively for Assistant Professor are not to be considered for the award of JRF.
