candidate will be connected to a main server, which prepares the
question set and finally delivers it on the computer screen.
BITSAT Test Format
BITSAT test will be of 3-hour duration without a single break and will have 4 parts:
- Part 1 Physics
No. of Questions: 40
- Part 2 Chemistry
No. of Questions: 40
- Part 3
English Proficiency:
No. of Questions: 15
Logical Reasoning:
No. of Questions: 10
- Part 4
Mathematics (or Biology for B.Pharm applicants)
No. of Questions: 45
Marking Scheme in BITSAT
The
questions BITSAT are of objective type; and the candidates are given a 4
answers as a choice for each question, with only 1 being the correct
one. The candidates are not allowed to choose more than 1 correct
answer, however they can skip a question. The candidates earn 3 marks,
and there is a negative marking of 1 for each wrong answer.
No. of Questions
A
total of 150 questions will be there in the test and once the
candidates answers a question, they are again allowed to go back and
change their choice of answers.
12 Extra QuestionsIf
the candidate finishes answering all the 150 questions without skipping
any of the question), and if there is still time left, then they will
be provided with an option to attempt answering extra 12 questions. The
extra 12 questions will be four questions each from Physics, Chemistry,
and Mathematics only. Once the candidate has opted for the extra
questions, they can’t go back for correcting the earlier 150 questions.
These
extra questions give a chance to the meritorious candidates to score
higher. However, the candidate should always remember that a single
wrong answer can earn them negative markings. The BITSAT questions will
be selected randomly and hence all candidates will get different set of
questions.
All the instructions will be mentioned along with the
questions and will only be in English language. Even though the test
will be computer based, they should still get a pen along with them for
the purpose of signing, rough work, etc. If required, the candidates
will be provided with blank sheets for rough work at the exam center.
Instruments such as logarithmic tables and calculators are not allowed
in the test centres. The candidates are also not allowed to bring mobile
phones to the exam center.
