IHM Aurganbad Entrance Test

The Institute of Hotel Management, IHM, Aurangabad or IHM-A conducts the Admission process every year to secure admission into different hotel management courses. The exams are conducted directly and have no admission agencies, tutorial classes and branches. The institute is located in Rauza Baugh in Aurangabad, Maharshtra

IHM-A Eligibility Criteria

All students applying for the IHM-A should have completed the Std.XII (10+2) or equivalent examination in any stream. It is compulsory to have English as the medium of instruction to participate for the course. Those who have appeared for their class 12 and are awaiting can still apply. You will be admitted to IHM-A only on clearing the exam.

IHM-A Application Process

For applying for this examination, you have to complete and fill up the online application form available on the official website. Admissions are granted on the basis of applicable regulations surrounding the collaborative relationship between Maulana Azad Educational Trust, Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj Group) and University of Huddersfield. Once online, you have to select on the application procedure and create a unique ID and password for yourself. Then fill up the detailed registration process. On completing the form, it is advised to double check the same and then submit. Retain a hard copy of the form.

For IHM- A the application fee is to be paid via an online payment of Rs. 1,500/- (Indian Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only). There are no special fees for SC/ ST or any other concessions provided.

IHM- A Exam Pattern

You don’t have to visit any other official centre for appearing for this test. You can take the same in the comfort of your home. As the application process is complete, you will be sent a mail to your email ID with test details and link. Just complete the test within the given frame of time and submit. Once this is done, you have to also take a printout of your assessment, which is to be carried to the GD or group discussion. Here you have to write a 1500 word essay on the Statement of Purpose and finally participate in a Personal Interview.

The test is not going to be based alone on the written online test. Shortlisted candidates have to take part in 3-stages of the assignment.

• Profiling (weightage - 20%)
• Statement of Purpose and Group Discussion (weightage – 30%)
• Personal Interview (weightage – 50%)

The selection procedure is rather elaborative and involves 2 written tests. The first is the online written test for a 90 minutes duration and will carry 100 marks. The MCQ type written test will be on the following categories:

a) Abstract Reasoning
b) Verbal Reasoning
c) Reading Comprehension
d) Numerical Reasoning
e) General Knowledge

Courses Offered in IHM A

4-yrs.B.A. (Hons.) in Hotel Management
The 4 Year B.A. (Hons.) degree from University of Huddersfield, UK, which is equivalent to a degree in Hotel Management from any Indian University. (Also Recognized by All India Council for Technical Education- AICTE).

4-yrs BA (Hons) – Culinary Arts
4 Year B.A. (Hons.) degree from University of Huddersfield, UK. Designed exclusively for  Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, this course prepares students for careers as chefs in restaurants, hotels and commercial kitchens. It will culminate in a BA (Hons) in Culinary Arts degree by the IHM–A and Taj.

You will have an option to meet us in any of these locations at a Taj Group Hotel in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and at the Institute in Aurangabad.
