The ATMA: AIMS Test for Management Admission is one of the national level tests for admissions into MBA and other PG courses related with management studies.  This examination is conducted 4 times in a year. Different institutes and universities take part in the same. Thousands of students take the ATMA examination every year, hoping to make a career in management.

Over the years, AIMS or Association of Indian Management Schools thought that there was a requirement for a high quality test, which would help in evaluating the scores that would be apt for the different admission procedures for post-graduation programs. The ATMA test was devised as the reliable predictor or analytical evaluation of the academic performance for such post-graduate management programs. The AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is regarded as one of the most credible, complete and single-window test for the same. The entire process of administration along with scoring is done at a professional level.

ATMA Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for ATMA includes
  • The candidates applying for the same should be at least 21 years or complete the same on the date of admission.
  • The candidates must be graduates from any recognized university in any stream like arts, commerce, etc.
  •  The candidates who are in their final/ last year of their qualifying exam can also appear for the examination.

ATMA Exam Pattern

This ATMA exam is conducted 4 times in a year and is done both on pen and paper and using the computer too. Depending on whether you choose the online or offline mode, the test option will differ though the pattern and syllabus remains the same. The questions are as follows-
  • Verbal reasoning
  • Numerical reasoning
  • Analyzing
  • Synthesizing ability
One has just 3 hours to attempt the exam and finish the same. There are 180 MCQ questions here that are on based on Analytical Reasoning Skills, Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills. You will get 1 mark for every correct answer. But you also lose 1/3 mark for a wrong answer. So if unsure, it is best to leave the question unanswered.

The question paper will have 6 sections in the paper and each of these would comprise of 30 questions each. Here is a table that will help you evaluate or get a clearer picture of the same-

For each question, the candidates will 4 options to choose from.  As mentioned above, each correct answer helps you gain 1 mark but 1/3 marks are deducted for wrong answers.

ATMA Admit Card

The Admit card is also known as the hall ticket of ATMA exam. You will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without the same. You can download the admit card from the website. However, the cards are available online only 15 days before the day of the exam. It contains the personal details of the candidates, along with photo, roll number of the candidates, examination time and venue.

ATMA Results

The ATMA results are announced within 30 days of the examination date. The results are announced on the official site of the ATMA. For getting your desired result, you have to enter the PID provided along with the name in the specific tab, which is provided beneath the link of result.

Here are some business schools that accept ATMA scores. But the ATMA alone is not a criteria and there is no fixed percentile used for determining. Other factors like graduation marks, etc. make a difference too.
