TISSNET: TISS National Entrance Test

TISSNET: TISS National Entrance Test is computer based National Entrance test generally held in January The examination takes place in nearly 39 centers located in different parts of the country. TATA Institute of Social Sciences conducts TISSNET and it is a national level postgraduate entrance exam. The candidates appearing for this examination are attempting to seek admissions to Masters in Social Work and related programs offered by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). TISS is a unique institution, which focuses on bringing together people from Social, Economic, Political, Physical, Habitat, Engineering, Health, Environmental Sciences for creating a powerful impact in the progress of the country.

It should be noted that only TISS Mumbai accepts the TISSNET scores only. All the aspiring candidates have the option to fill the application form in both online and offline modes. The online process ends in December/January.

TISSNET Eligibility Criteria

To appear for this exam, one must be a graduate from any discipline like Arts/ Commerce/Science/ Engineering/ Technology/ Medical /Dental /Agriculture or any other professional course with a recognized bachelor’s degree. The bachelor’s degree should be of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10 plus 2 plus 3 or 10 plus 2 plus 4 system).

TISSNET Application Form

The application forms for TISS National Entrance Test are available both online and offline. Here all the eligible candidates have an option to apply for the maximum of three programmes across the two TISS Campuses and other locations. For filling the form online, the candidates have to visit the official website. The entire process of application, paying the fees, etc. can be done there.

When filling the TISSNET Application Form remember to check the details properly before submission. Once candidates have submitted their applications, they get a verification email and you have to click on the same. Then you have to log in again and complete the remaining part of the TISSNET Application Form. You will also need to upload the mentioned documents and certificates. Keep a passport size photograph and signature scan ready too.

For applying offline, you just have to get hold of a printed copy of the application form. This can be taken from the Institute by sending a request by Speed Post. The application fees and needed letter should be sent to-

For all the SC/ST/OBC candidates, a fee of Rs. 260 is needed. The other general category candidates have to pay Rs 1030 for one program. (Application Fee is a variable and may change).

TISSNET Exam Pattern

The TISS National Entrance Test is conducted in January across 39 centers. This computer-based test has 100 objective questions that have to be answered within this duration of 1 hour 40 minutes. The objective test includes categories like General Knowledge; Analytical Ability, Logical Reasoning; and English Proficiency. The rudimentary knowledge of working on a computer is essential here. There is no negative marking for wrong answers in the test so try to attempt all answers. The General Awareness will consist of 40 marks, English Proficiency 30 marks, Math and Logical Reasoning - 30 marks.

TISS Admit Card

Admit cards for TISS National Entrance Test are available for all the registered candidates. No one without a valid admit card would be allowed to enter the examination hall.
