AIMCET

The All India MCA Common Entrance Test or AIMCET is the entrance examination for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Program that is offered by the IITs along with other leading universities and colleges. AIMCET  is a National Level Test and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee will conduct the same on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. It is an eligibility test for those who wish to seek admission in these prestigious institutes. This is a common score that is also accepted by some of the institutes or universities that conduct their own MCA eligibility test.

The aim now is to make all Indian colleges to use the AIMCET as the basis of selection instead of using other procedures. Even though most states are going to continue with their own common entrance tests for MCA programmes, most other affiliated institutes are expected to make the switch.

AIMCET Eligibility Criteria

To appear for AIMCET, all the candidates should have a Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration. This degree can be in any discipline but he/she must have Mathematics at the (10+2) level. Candidates appearing for their Bachelor's degree examination can apply too but they have to ensure that aforementioned criteria like providing proof of having passed with certificate is provided. This is an exam just for Indian nationals. No foreigners are allowed.
