The NEST (National Entrance Screening Test) is entrance examination for admission to Under Graduate programmes towards 5-Year Integrated MSc offered by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneshwar and University of Mumbai (UOM)-Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Science (DAE CEBS). Candidates who who fulfills the following mentioned eligibility conditions can apply for the test.
Candidates in General and OBC category should be 20 years of age. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Divyangjan candidates.
Passed in Class XII examination. Candidates appearing in Class 12 are also eligible to apply. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective Admission Committees will be final.)
At least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Divyangjan candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.
Candidate should secure a position in the NEST merit list.
NEST is Computer Based Test (CBT). Merit list for both the institutes i.e. NISER and CEBS is prepared separately.
The NISER Bhubaneshwar offers 5 Integrated MSc programmes in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical sciences.
The University of Mumbai Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Science (UOM-DAE CEBS) offers 5 Year Integrated MSc programme in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical sciences.
