BITS Higher Degree M.Pharm Admission Test

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani administers Higher Degree Admission Test for entry into Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) program. This is regular program and delivered through BITS Pilani Main Campus in Pilani, Rajasthan, India and BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The candidates can seek admissions to Higher Degree Programmes either using a valid GPAT score or through BITS HD Test or through both the modes. However, the final admission to a particular programme will only be done on the basis of merit. Candidates have to choose the option at the time of applying.

Almost every candidate will be given a teaching assistantship and/or tuition fee waiver of about Rs. 13,400/- per month, for which the students have to contribute about 8 to 10 hours per week assisting in laboratories, teaching, etc. as assigned by the department.

BITS Higher Degree M.Pharm Admission Test Eligibility Criteria

All Candidates should have successfully completed their integrated first degree of BITS in Pharmacy or other equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks. 

BITS Higher Degree M.Pharm Admission Test Application Process

  • Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website www.bitsadmission.com
  • Candidates are not required to send any hard copy of the application form. However, it is advisable to keep a print out of the filled in application form for future reference.
  • Candidates who wish to apply through GPAT, are required to enter the details of GPAT score while applying.
Note:
  1. Candidate are only allowed to fill in one online application form. Multiple applications of a candidate is liable to be rejected.
  2. Candidates are required to upload scanned images of the signature and photograph in the jpg/jpeg format only. The size of the photo image must be between 10Kb to 30Kb. Size of signature image must be between 2Kb to 20Kb.  Candidates applying through GPAT option, should upload the scanned copy of the valid GPAT score card. Size of documents must be between 100Kb to 300Kb.

BITS Higher Degree M.Pharm Application Fees

  • Candidates applying through GPAT score: Rs 1000/-
  • All others: Rs. 3400/- (including the fees for the BITS HD online test).
The fees can be paid using any of the following modes of payment:
  1. Through online mode using net banking or Credit/Debit Cards
  2. By cash payment at any ICICI Bank branches in India along with a specially generated Pay-in Slip
  3. Payment by Credit Cards and Debit Cards using PayTM etc.

Test – I
It is a compulsory paper comprising of two sections.
  • Duration: 45 mins
  • Total No of questions: 30
  • Marks: 3 marks for each correct answers and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. However, no marks will be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted.
  • Type of Questions: Objective Multiple Choice Questions
  • Medium of language: English

Test II:
Test II is based upon the candidate’s qualifying degree programme. It attempts to test his/her basic knowledge about the subject studied in the first degree course or equivalent. Therefore, it is a compulsory paper for those applying for all higher degree programmes (except candidates who have only applied for Software systems).
  • Duration: 105 mins
  • No. of Questions: 70
  • Marks: 3 marks for each correct answers and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. However, no marks will be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions
  • Type of Questions: Objective Multiple Choice Questions
  • Medium of language: English
Note:
  1. Candidate are allowed to skip a question, but not allowed to choose more than one option as the correct answer.
  2. The BIT HD questions paper will consist of randomly selected questions from a question bank. Different candidates will have to answer different set of questions. However, the expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of same type, difficulty level, etc.

BITS Higher Degree M.Pharm Admission Test Centers

BITSHD has test centers in several cities in order to facilitate a larger number of students all over India. Candidates are required to give any three preferences and will be allotted to one of the examination centers. However, the final list of the centers will only be announced after receiving all the application forms. BITS Higher Degree M.Pharm Admission Test Rules and Regulations

  1. Only Candidates with hall tickets will be allowed to enter the test centers.
  2. Candidates are required to bring a pen for various purpose such as rough work, signing etc. However, the blank sheets for rough work will be provided in the test center.
  3. A calculator without any kind of programmable feature/network connectivity can be brought to the test centers.
  4. No personal belongings such smart watches, ipods, mobile phones or any other electronic devices are allowed inside the test centers.
Note: The test centers under CCTV surveillance to closely monitor the candidate’s activities and identity. Therefore, anyone found violating the rules and regulations set by the authority will not be allowed to continue with the test under any circumstances. His/her candidature will automatically stand cancelled.
