Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) conducts a National Entrance Test (TISSNET) exam for admission to its Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H.) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad campuses and other locations like BALM, Chennai and TISS-Nagaland.

Pre-admission orentation Programme for SC/ST/OBC/Minority and PWD candidates will be held at Mumbai/Tuljapur/Hyderabad and Guwahati Campuses in December.

TISSNET Post-Graduate Degree Programmes Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualification:
i) Candidates are required to complete their Bachelor's or Master's Degree of minimum of 3 or 4 years duration or other equivalent degree (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 pattern or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.

ii) Those candidates in their 3 year degree progremme are also eligible to apply provided they should have passed in all the subjects for the 1st to 4th semesters and candidates studying in 4 year degree progrmmes should have passed in all the subjects for 1st to 6th semester.

iii) Candidates are required to produce their original certificate and mark sheet on the date of personal interview, for verifying that the candidate is eligible for admission. Those in the final year are required to produce the mark sheets of all previous semesters (excluding the final semester) for verification on the date of personal interview. Candidates who do not bring the aforesaid certificates in original shall not be allowed to appear for the interview.

Three years Integrated B.Ed/M.Ed programme

Candidates are required to complete their Masters degree (MSc/MA/MCom)
NCTE requirements state that the applicants have a min of 55% ( 50% in case of SC/ST) in their postgraduate qualification.

Programme Specific Eligibility

TISS Mumbai Campus

Master of Arts in (Organisation Development, Change and Leadership) (Also Offered from Hyderabad Off-Campus:
Candidates must have 2 years of professional work experience in any field after graduation.
Master of Public Health (Health Administration):
Candidates should have
(i) successfully completed a three year Bachelor Degree in any discipline, or
(ii) four year Bachelor Degree in medicine, paramedical sciences, and other four year programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and law
(iii) Candidates in their final year should complete all examinations and internship (wherever applicable) on or before June on specified date.

Master of ( Hospital Administration )

Candidates should have
(i) successfully completed a three year Bachelor Degree in any discipline, or
(ii) four year Bachelor Degree in medicine, paramedical sciences, and other four year programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and law.
(iii) Candidates in their final year should complete all examinations and internship (wherever applicable) on or before June on specified date.

Master of Public Health (Health Policy, Economics and Finance)

Candidates should have
(i) successfully completed Master degree in any discipline, or
(ii) successfully completed Bachelor's degree in medicine, paramedical and other four year programmes like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and law
(iii) Candidates in their final year should complete all examinations and internship (wherever applicable) on or before June on specified date.

Master of Public Health (Social Epidemiology)

Candidates should have
(i) successfully completed Master degree in any discipline, or
(ii) successfully completed Bachelor's degree in medicine, paramedical and other four year programmes like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and law.
(iii) Candidates in their final year should complete all examinations and internship (wherever applicable) on or before June on specified date.

M.A./M.Sc. in (Urban Policy and Governance):

Candidates should have successfully completed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with an interest in habitat-related issues/sectors. Candidates in their final should complete all the examinations and internship (wherever applicable) on or before June on specified date.

Master of Arts in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Counseling Practice):

Candidates who have completed/are in the process of completing B.A./B.Sc. Honors in Psychology,
Candidates who have completed/are in the process of completing B.A./B.Sc. General – with minimum of three papers in Psychology

Candidates who have completed any Bachelors Degree from a recognized University and have completed a University recognized one-year, part-time/full-time post-graduate diploma in counseling fulfilling the UGC criterion of minimum 40 credits (Distance and online diploma courses will not be considered)
Candidates in their final year should complete all the examinations and internship (wherever applicable) on or before June on specified date.

Master of Law (LL.M ) in (Access To Justice):

LL.B. Degree with 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST). The candidates appearing in final LL.B. Examination in April / May can also apply.

M.A. in (Applied Psychology with specialisation in Counseling Psychology)
