TISSNET 2019 Post-Graduate Degree Programmes Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualification:
i)    Candidates are required to complete their Bachelor's or Master's Degree of minimum of 3 or 4 years duration or other equivalent degree (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 pattern or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.

ii)    Candidates who will successfully complete, in all respects, all the requirements of their final year eligible degree (including all examinations and internships, if applicable) by Wednesday, June 5, 2019, are also eligible to apply.

iii)     Those candidates who cannot submit the degree certificate and grade/mark sheet at the time of admission but are eligible to apply are required to submit these latest by September 30, 2019, failing which their provisional admission would stand automatically cancelled without any further reference to the candidate. The onus will be on the candidate to submit the degree/provisional degree and grade/mark sheet by September 30, 2019. No further extension of date will be allowed under any circumstances.

iv)     Those candidates in their 3 year degree progremme are also eligible to apply provided they should have passed in all the subjects for the 1st to 4th semesters and candidates studying in 4 year degree progrmmes should have passed in all the subjects for 1st to 6th semester.

v)    The admission offered will remain provisional until a candidate submits her/his degree certificate and final mark/grade sheet as evidence of having successfully completed the eligibility criteria by the given date.

vi)    The candidature/admission of the candidate will be summarily cancelled if the information provided by a candidate is found to be incorrect or misleading at any point of time.

vii)    Candidates are required to produce their original certificate and mark sheet on the date of personal interview, for verifying that the candidate is eligible for admission. Those in the final year are required to produce the mark sheets of all previous semesters (excluding the final semester) for verification on the date of personal interview. Candidates who do not bring the aforesaid certificates in original shall not be allowed to appear for the interview.

Three years Integrated B.Ed/M.Ed programme

Candidates are required to complete their Masters degree (MSc/MA/MCom)
NCTE requirements state that the applicants have a min of 55% ( 50% in case of SC/ST) in their postgraduate qualification
Those candidates who will be able to complete all the requirements of their final year Master's Degree examinations by Saturday, 08 June 2019 are only eligible to apply.

Candidates should have

Candidates in their final should complete all the examinations and internship (wherever applicable) on or before 5th June 2019.

Master of Arts in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Counseling Practice):
Candidates who have completed/are in the process of completing B.A./B.Sc. Honors in Psychology,

TISSNET Post-Graduate Degree Programmes 2019 Application Fees

For General candidates :
  • Rs. 1000/- for One programme
  • Rs. 1000/- x 2 = Rs.2000/- for Two programmes ( Bank charges additional )
  • Rs. 1000/- x 3 = Rs. 3000/- for Three programmes ( Bank charges additional )
For SC / ST candidates :
  • Rs 250 /- For One Programme ( Bank charges additional )

Candidates are required to pay the amount through prescribed challan to any branch of the State Bank of India. And the portion of the challan marked for TISS should be scan and upload along with the application form while submitting the application form online.

TISS Admission withdrawal and fee refund procedure

If a student / candidates withdraws before the commencement of the programme, the entire fee collected from the student, after a deduction of the processing fee of not more than Rs 1,000 /- ( One Thousand Only ), shall be refunded by the Institution to the student / candidate. Should a student leave after commencement  of programme  the vacant seat is filled by another candidate by the late date of admission, then the  Institute will refund all the refundable deposits and also 50% of the remaining fees paid and if the seat remains vacant the same procedure is applicable for refund.
Note: Receipt for deposits should be carefully preserved and returned at the time of leaving the Institute for refund.
If the request for withdrawal from the programme is given after one month from the commencement of the session, then refund process will be carried forward after letter received from the respective school deans  for the further procedure.

TISSNET Post-Graduate Degree Programmes 2019 Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates for various post graduate courses are held in two stages and has three components of assessment.

Stage 1: All eligible candidates are required to appear for the National entrance test (TISSNET).
Stage 2: Based on the performance in the TISSNET examination, only short listed candidates are called for the Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview.

Marks for Different Components of Assessment

National Common Written Test*: 100 marks
Pre-Interview Test/GD: 50 marks
Personal Interview: 75 marks
Total: 225 marks
Note: TISS NET 2019 will not have negative marking for any programme.

TISS M.A. Admission Interviews

Eligibility for Pre-Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI): Candidates are shortlisted for the second round of selection (PIT and PI) on the basis of merit and their performance in the online test (cut-off marks to be decided later by the Institute).

The short-listed candidates will receive call letters for the second round (PIT and PI) to be held in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati campuses. The Pre-Interview Test consists of a written test conducted before the Personal Interview.

Pre-Interview Test (PIT):
For all the programmes across TISS Campuses, the PIT will be in the form of a Written Test (or Group Discussion for a few programmes).

Personal Interview (PI):
Candidates will appear for a personal interview after the PIT. They are advised to acquaint themselves with the programme for which they have applied, as questions may be asked questions on related topics during the PI.

Is this Institute Affiliated to any University?
No, this is a “Deemed University” established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.

How many seats do you have for a programme?
The Number of Seats varies from programme to programme. For more details you may refer to our information visit in the website.

How many seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PWD?
For SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC(NC) (27%) and PWD (3% i.e. 1% in each category of a) Low vision / blindness, b) Hearing Impairment, and c) Locomotor Disability / Cerebral Palsy) as per Government of India (Goi) rules. The reservation for Kashmiri Migrants (KM) 1 % and Armed Forced 5% subject to the Government of India (Goi) Directives.

What are the facilities available for SC / ST / OBC (Non-creamy Layer) / Religious Minority / PWD candidates?
We conduct post-admission orientation programme, remedial coaching classes and various need based programmes. Besides, scholarship for eligible students as per Goi rules.

Do you have any management / NRI / Ex-Serviceman quota?
No

Do you offer admission to Deputed / Sponsored Candidates?
In the case of Government Officers/employees from Departments of Education/SCERTs/DIETs, Teachers and Resources Persons applying for the M.A. Education (Elementary)/all other programmes filled application forms may be sent via the relevant authority nominating the candidates. The selection of such candidates will be through a suitable screening process comprising documentary evidence of interest and motivation of the programme or an interview.

Do TISS offer MBA programme?
No. But it offers M.A. in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations (HRM & LR) programme.

What should I do if I face a Document upload issue?
Candidates are requested to follow the following steps :
Step 1 : Check the list of documents to be uploaded and keep it ready before the log in process.
Step 2 : It is advisable to complete the application process in one session to minimize the possibility of document not being uploaded.
Step 3 : If the candidate closes the application form during the process with / without uploading all the required documents - then make sure to check if those documents were successfully uploaded when you log in the next time.

No.

How many times one can appear for the entrance test?
You can make attempts as many as you want.

What is the procedure for verifying Original Documents?
Document verification will be done before re -opening of classes between April to  June 2018 All the original documents from Xth standard onwards should be produced for verification.

What is Pre-admission Medical check-up?
All the provisionally selected candidates have to undergo for the Medical check-up which will be conducted by the Medical Officers of the Institute after verification of original documents on the same Day .

Do you have campus placement?
Yes, for some programmes, particularly the old ones. For programmes which are recently introduced are also in the process for campus placement. Otherwise students are getting placed in various sectors after graduating from this Institute.

Is this post graduate degree from the TISS recognized abroad?
Yes
