TOEFL: Test of English as Foreign Language

TOEFL is a measure of English Language Proficiency. The test score shows you English skills in four area; Listen, Read, Write and Speak. The educational testing services administers TOEFL worldwide. In India TOEFL is held across many designated cities. Students looking to go overseas for studies and candidates planning to study and work abroad can write TOEFL. The institutions and employers mainly in English speaking countries accepts TOEFL score as a measure of your English skills. They want to make sure that you would fit in an English speaking environment.

If your first language is not English and you are looking for higher education abroad take TOEFL test. Score would be at multiple stages, for example when you apply to a college/university programme and apply for a visa.
