National Skill Trainers Institute

National Skill Trainers Institute (NSTI), Dehra Dun was established in 1982 by the then Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, New Delhi. The main aim of the Institute is to cater to the needs of the industries in Northern India in the field of Electronics and Process Instrumentation. The main focus of NSTI Dehradun which is now under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship is on vocational training, skill development and entrepreneurship.

This institute is entrusted with the mission of producing systematically trained Craft Instructors to meet the huge demand of various Industrial Training Institutions in our country under Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) in four trades namely Electrician & wireman, Electronics Mechanic, Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance (CHNM) and Computer Software Applications (CSA), and has been upgraded as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) under the World Bank assisted VTIP to train the ITI instructors under IT Sector. The Institute also conducts summer/practical/industrial training for the graduating B.Tech, M.Sc (Electronics), B.Sc (IT), M.Sc (IT) and Diploma Students The courses are conducted for skill upgradation through intensive skill oriented training by using the latest version of equipment and machinery used in industry.

Craft Instructor Training (Semester System)

Craft Instructor courses(CITS) cater to the increasing demand of Skilled Instructor in various Govt. ITIs/ Pvt. ITIs in the trades of Electronic Mechanic, Electrician & Wireman, Computer Hardware Networking Maintenance(IT & ESM), and Computer Software Application(COPA).
