Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India administers Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination i.e. CAPF (ACs) for the recruitment of  Assistant Commandants. The examination is held in the three stages, viz Written Test, Physical Eligibility Test and Interview. The commission will recommend names of selected candidates to the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria CAPF ACs Examination

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a government recognized Institute or university.
Nationality: Citizens of India and all those who are considered as same by the Constitution of India
Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 20 to 25 years as on 1st August of the year of examination. Age relaxation will be applicable as per the govt rules for reserved category candidates.
Gender Eligibility: Both males and members are eligible to apply

Written Examination Pattern CAPF ACs

The Written Examination for CAPF ACs Recruitment is in two papers
Paper-1
This paper consists of questions from General Ability & Intelligence. Total 125 Multiple Choice Type Questions / MCQs are asked.  Total marks allocated for this paper are 250 and duration is 2 hours. Following topics are covered in this test
  • General mental ability
  • Indian & world geography
  • General Science
  • History of India
  • Indian polity & economy
  • Current events of national & international importance
  • General mental ability
Paper-2
This paper consists of questions from General Studies, Essay & Comprehension. Subjective questions are asked. Candidates need to write descriptive answers. Total number of questions asked are 20 and maximum marks allocated are 200. This is a 3 hours examination. Topic wise distribution of questions and marks allocated are given below
  • Precis writing: No. of Questions – 2; Maximum Marks- 30
  • Report writing: No. of Questions – 1; Maximum Marks- 20
  • Essay writing (approx. 800 words) : No. of Questions – 1; Maximum Marks- 80
  • Question from comprehension & passage: No. of Questions – 2; Maximum Marks- 40
  • Counter argument type questions: No. of Questions – 2; Maximum Marks- 10
  • Other grammar questions: Maximum Marks- 20
There is negative marking for wrong answers.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) CAPF ACs Examination

Candidates who qualify in the written test CAPF ACs Examination require to undergo for physical fitness test. Here given standards to appear for Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

PET Standards for Males
  • 100 Meters race In 16 seconds
  • 800 Meters race In 3 minutes 45 Seconds
  • Long Jump 3.5 Meters (3 chances)
  • Shot Put (7.26 Kgs.) 4.50 Meters
PET Standards for Females
  • 100 Meters race In 18 seconds800 Meters race In 4 minutes 45 Seconds
  • Long Jump 3 Meters (3 chances)
  • *** Pregnant females are not allowed to take the test

Examination Fee CAPF ACs Examination

To appear for CAPF ACs Examination candidates are required to submit an examination fee of Rs. 200 either in Cash at Designated SBI Branches or using SBI netbanking facility. Fees can also be using Credit Card / Debit Card etc. Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates are not required to pay examination fee.

Candidates require to log on to UPSC Form filling website and read and follow instructions carefully for a successful application. A valid email id and mobile number is mandatory for registration. UPSC will send all future communication regarding this examination on your registered email and phone.

Admit Card CAPF ACs Examination

The UPSC uploads e-admit cards of successful applicants on its official portal and notifies through email and SMS. A detailed press release is also published on official website related availability of e-admit cards. Candidates need to download and print copy of admit card and carry on the exam day to exam centre. The admit card is very important document and shall be prevented till admission procedure is over.
