Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2020

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into the Master's (M.Pharm) program in various institutions. Till 2018, it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The GPAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session. The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy are also given on the basis of the GPAT score.

The examination date of GPAT 2020 is 24th January, 2020.
Timing of Examination: 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

GPAT 2020 Important Dates

Submission of online application form (upto 11.50 p.m.): 1st November, 2019 to 30th November, 2019

Uploading the scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph and Signature (Upto 11.50 p.m.): 1st November, 2019 to 1st December, 2019

Last date for payment of application fees (through Credit/Debit Card/ Net Banking up to 11.50 p.m. and through e-challan upto bank hours): 1st November, 2019 to 1st December, 2019

Date of Examination: 24th January, 2020

Timing of Examination: 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Availability of Admit Cards from NTA’s website: From 24th December, 2020

Display of recorded responses and Answer Keys for inviting challenges on NTA’s website: Date shall be displayed on the NTA’s website

GPAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

a. Candidate must be a citizen of India.
b. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates).
c. Candidates who are in their final year of B. Pharmacy course are also eligible to appear for GPAT 2020 exam.
d. Candidates having a B.Tech (Pharmaceutical and fine chemical technology) degree / other equivalent degree are not eligible to appear for GPAT examination.

Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2020 Application Process

The candidates can register online for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2020 on the official GPAT registration website.

GPAT 2020 Application Fee

For general/ Non-creamy OBC candidates: Rs. 1400 applicable bank charges
For female/ SC/ ST/ PwD candidates: Rs. 700 applicable bank charges
For Transgender candidates: Rs. 700 applicable bank charges

Payment modes

The GPAT 2020 application fee can be paid using two modes:
Online: netbanking/ credit card/ debit card through
Cash: generate the challan online and deposit the cash in any SBI branch

GPAT 2020 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test or GPAT 2020 is going to be a computer based (online) test. The exam pattern for GPAT 2020 is as follows:
  • The duration of the GPAT 2020 will be 180 minutes

  • The question would comprise of 125 multiple choice questions where every correct answer earns you 4 marks and there will be negative marking of 1 mark each for every wrong answer.

  • While answering the questions, you are allowed to jump back and forth between the questions in order of your choice.
