The company invites young energetic Graduate and Post Graduate aspirants to fill 25 vacancies in the cadre of Assistant Managers (Scale-I).
GIC is a 14th largest Reinsurance Company in the world and is fully owned by the Government of India (GoI). It has network all over India as well as abroad.
GIC Assistant Manager (Scale I) 2018 Pay Scale
Basic Pay Rs.32,795/- per month in the scale of Rs.32795 -1610(14) – 55335 -1745(4) - 62315 and other admissible allowances like DA, HRA, CCA, etc. The total emoluments will be about Rs.53400/-p.m. plus other benefits.

GIC Assistant Manager (Scale I) 2018 Eligibility Criteria
A. Age Limit (as on 08.05.2018)The age of the candidate should be between 21-30 years of age. However, there is a relaxation of age limit for reserved category candidates
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwD: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service rendered in the defence forces 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a maximum age limit of 45 years
- Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried: 9 years
- Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89: 5 years
- Existing Confirmed Employees of Public Sector General Insurance Companies (including GIC & Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd.): 8 years
B. Educational Qualifications (as on 08.05.2018)
- General Stream: The minimum qualification of the general/OBC category candidate should be Graduation or Post Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks in either of the degree examination. There is a relaxation of 5% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Hindi Stream: General & OBC category candidates should score a minimum of 60% marks in Post Graduate in Hindi with English as one of the subjects in Graduation.

- Candidates should have done a certificate course in Translation or must have experience in translation work.
P.S.: There is a relaxation of 5% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
GIC Assistant Manager (Scale I) 2018 Selection Procedure
The selection process consists of two stages –
- Online Written Examination
- GD/Interview
The total marks for Written Test, Group Discussion and Interview will be 200.

The candidates will be examined on the basis of an Online Written Examination. The details of exam pattern is shown below for different posts.

P.S. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answers.
Stage 2 – GD & Interview
Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and interview on the basis of the marks obtained in Part A Part B Part C of written examination out of total 150 marks. They should score a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST category) to qualify for the Group Discussion & Interview.

d. Any valid Photo Identify Proof
e. Class 10 and class 12 Mark-sheets & certificates (Graduation/Post Graduation).
f. Where CGPA / OGPA are awarded, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.
g. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
Final Selection
The overall selection of the candidates depend upon the marks obtained in online test, GD and Interview. Candidates should score a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST category) to finally get selected.
