ICAR AIEEA (PG)

The ICAR's All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) / ICAR AIEEA (PG) is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Based on this test 30% seats are offered in Master degree programmes in AUs. And all (100%) seats of the four ICAR-DUs namely, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) and CAUs, viz. RLBCAU, Jhansi and Dr. RPCAU, Pusa are also filled up through this examination.

Further, not more than 40% candidates from any one state shall be admitted in any agricultural university in a particular subject and category.

Master degree programmes in Agriculture are offered in disciplines like Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary, Animal Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Community Science (erstwhile Home Science), Fisheries, Dairy Science and other allied sciences.

For postgraduate studies, shall be awarded to candidates Based on merit in this examination ICARPG Scholarship  is awarded as per their overall merit-rank and seat availability in different disciplines. Also the National Talent Scholarship is offered to deserving candidates as per revised guidelines.

ICAR AIEEA (PG) is Computer Based Test (CBT). Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are asked.

NTA ICAR AIEEA (PG) Registration Fee

  • Candidates need to pay application fee as per their number of course chosen.
  • Application fee can be paid online through debit/credit card.
  • Application Fee will be non-refundable if paid once.
  • General/ Unreserved: INR 1175
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC- NCL) & UPS/ EWS: INR 1150
  • SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender: INR 600

NTA ICAR AIEEA (PG) Exam Pattern

The test of AIEEA (PG) is a single paper of 2 hours duration. Details of the test are given below:
  • Mode of Examination: CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours)
  • Number of Questions: 120
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Scoring
    • 4 marks for each correct response
    • -1 mark for each incorrect response (negative scoring)
    • 0 for non-attempt
  • Medium of Paper: English only

NTA ICAR AIEEA (PG) Eligibility

  • The candidates having passed graduation with four/six (12+4/10+6 B.Sc. Ag./B.Tech.) / five years (B.V.Sc. & AH) / 5½ years (B.V.Sc. & AH) degree or equivalent examination.
  • The candidates with 3 year bachelor's degree qualification are not considered for admission to AUs through ICAR AIEEA PG except in few courses at IARI and NDRI.
  • The Candidate must have passed Bachelor degree examination securing Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.60/10.00 in ten-point scale, 5.88/9.00 in nine-point scale, 5.22/8.00 in eight point scale, 4.57/7.00 in seven point scale, 3.92/6.00 in six point- scale, 3.25/5.00 in five-point scale, 2.60/4.00 in four-point scale for General, OBC, UPS and EWS categories whereas for SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender candidates, the said requirement is an OGPA of at least 5.60/10.00, 4.98/9.00 in nine-point scale, 4.42/8.00 in eight point scale 3.87/7.00 in seven point scale, 3.32/6.00 in six point scale, 2.75/5.00, 2.25/4.00 respectively.
  • For admission to MVSc programme candidates must have passed BVSc and AH.
  • Minimum age limit is 19 years. There is no upper age limit.

NTA ICAR AIEEA (PG) Admit Card

The e-Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidates, subject to their satisfying the eligibility conditions. The candidate has to download the e-Admit Card from the NTA website from June onward and appear for the Examination at the given Centre on Date and Shift (Timing) as indicated in their e-Admit Card.
