AIAPGET: All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test

The AIAPGET: All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi (An Autonomous Organization under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India). On the basis of rank in AIAPGET Post Graduate (PG) seats will be offered in AYUSH programmes i.e. Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy leading to the award of AYUSH MD/MS/PG Diploma.

The AIAPGET is the only entrance exam that is valid for admission to MD / MS / PG DIPLOMA Courses in AYUSH subjects. No other entrance exam either state or institution level is accepted for admission.

AIAPGET Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates should have successfully completed their BAMS/ BUMS/ BSMS/ BHMS/Graded BHMS degree recognized as per the provisions of the IMCC 1970/HCC 1973 Act and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of BAMS/ BUMS/ BSMS/ BHMS/Graded BHMS degree qualification issued by the CCIM/CCH/state board/universities/deemed universities. They must have completed their one year of internship or/are likely to complete the internship before the date of counselling are eligible to apply for AIAPGET.

  2. Candidates who are at any stage found ineligible to sit for AIAPGET will not be permitted to appear for the examination or counselling.

  3. Those requests for appearing in AIAPGET from candidates who are completing their internship after the date of counselling shall be summarily rejected.

  4. Candidates having qualifications that are not recognized by the competent authority will be rejected.

  5. The candidates are required to submit the original Compulsory Rotating Internship completion certificate at the time of counselling. The dates mentioned by the candidates in regard to 12 months Compulsory Rotating Internship i.e. starting date, completion date, shall be treated as final.

  6. There are few Universities/Institutions having regulations that candidates who are already pursuing any PG Course in their University or in another University are not eligible for admission till they complete the course. Those candidates who are already pursuing PG Courses either through All India Quota or State Quota and are applying for a seat under All India Quota/State quota seats may confirm the eligibility conditions of that University in this regard. Therefore, MoA/AIIA shall not be responsible if such candidates are refused for admission.

AIAPGET Exam Pattern

Exam Pattern: Computer Based
Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
Number of Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions with single correct response.
Time Allotted: 90 minutes.
Marking System: 01 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates MUST bring to the test centre the following documents-
i. 2 nos. of printed copies of Admit Card with latest passport size photo pasted on it (One will be retained by the centre).

ii. Any one of the authorized photo IDs including PAN card/Driving license/Voter ID/Passport/ Aadhaar Card (must be original, valid and non-expired).

iii. It is important to note that the candidates must bring the same photo identity proof as mentioned during the registration process.

iv. Self-attested copy of authorized photo ID which will also be retained by the center.

AIAPGET Examination Fee

2,700 (for general and OBC) 1,800 (for SC,ST, PwD)

P.S.: The above fee is inclusive of examination fees. The Information Bulletin will not be sold separately and shall only be available at the official website.

Candidates are required to pay the prescribed registration fees through payment gateway using Credit Card or Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Internet Banking. No other modes of payment will be entertained. Service charges and other taxes for transaction as applicable by bank has to be paid by the applicant.

The examination fee will be forfeited for candidates who remain absent from the examination or if declared ineligible. Fee shall neither be refunded nor carried forwarded if the application for AIAPGET is rejected or candidature is found to be ineligible or candidate is unable to appear in the examination.

AIAPGET Admit Card

Candidates are required to download their Admit card for AIAPGET online. They need to take a printout of the same and paste their latest passport size photograph of minimum 35x45 mm with at least 75% coverage of face & head of the candidate.

The AIAPGET Registration is completely online. NTA is administering authority for the test. Candidates with a suitable college degree in AYUSH subjects must need to write AIAPGET for Post Graduate admission.

  1. Is AIAPGET a mandatory test?
    Yes, the AIAPGET is a mandatory test for obtaining admission to any AYUSH Postgraduate Courses.

  2. Who will be eligible for State quota seats counselling?
    Candidates in possession of BAMS/ BUMS/ BSMS/ BHMS / Graded BHMS degree from a AYUSH College/Institute duly recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medicine Central Council (IMCC) Act/Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) Act, possessing either a permanent or provisional registration certificate of BAMS/ BUMS/ BSMS/ BHMS Graded BHMS degree or equivalent qualification issued by the CCIM / CCH and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the same on or before the date of counselling may apply for AIAPGET.

  3. Who will determine the final merit list for All India (open/other state) / state quota seats?
    The merit for All India (open/other state) / state quota seats will be prepared by concerned state Authority/University using AIAPGET ranks and as per applicable Regulation and/or their eligibility criteria, Guidelines, reservation policy, benefits for In-service candidates, rural posting (if applicable) etc.

  4. What is the entrance test format for AIAPGET?
    All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) is a Computer-Based Test (CBT). This is not an Internet-based test, i.e. a candidate does not take the test over the Internet. Instead of reading the questions from a paper booklet and darkening the ovals in an answer sheet, a candidate will now read the questions on a computer screen and choose an answer by using a mouse to click on the appropriate option.

  5. How is the computer-based format different from the paper and pencil format?
    The only difference between computer-based format and paper and pencil format is in the way the questions are presented, and how responses are recorded.

  6. Can I take the exam from any computer?
    No, a candidate will only have to appear for the exam on a pre-assigned workstation of the test center allocated to him/her mentioned in the admit card.

  7. Can I move back and forth between the questions?
    Yes, candidates will have the option to navigate between the questions. Candidates are advised to make use of the Demo test that is available on the AIAPGET official website to familiarize themselves with the navigation and functionality of the actual exam. However, a 15-minute demo test will also be available prior to the start of the actual exam in the examination center.

  8. What type of questions will there be?
    The question paper will only comprise of multiple choice questions (MCQ), each with four (4) options and only one (1) correct response.

  9. What is the syllabus / course on which the exam would be based?
    The exam will include almost all subjects taught during the BAMS/ BUMS/ BSMS/ BHMS course as prescribed by CCIM/CCH.

  10. Where can I get the name of test centres for AIAPGET?
    The name of test centre AIAPGET 2018 will be mentioned in admit card issued for the registered candidate.

  11. Can I use my friend’s email address when registering for AIAPGET?
    No, candidates are required to use their own valid and unique email address.

  12. Is there a restriction on what can be entered within the address fields during the online registration?
    Yes, you need to limit each address line to 35 characters including spaces. You may make use of Address line 1, 2 and 3 in case of longer addresses. Special characters are acceptable.

  13. If I have made any mistake(s) while registering for AIAPGET, can I make changes later to rectify?
    Once after clicking into ‘Final Submit’ during the registration process, the candidate’s details cannot be edited/changed.

  14. Can I change my test city?
    No, once you have completed your online registration, you will not be allowed to change your test city. Please select your preferred choices carefully. However, AIIA/MoA reserves the right to change the city based on the feasibility.

  15. Can I cancel the exam?
    No, under no circumstances will a cancellation / refund be allowed.

  16. If I do not take my exam, will I be eligible for a refund?
    No, your fees will not be refunded in case you do not appear for your exam.

  17. Will there be any breaks during the exam?
    No, there will be no scheduled breaks during the test but candidates are allowed to go to the restroom by raising their hand to inform the test centre administrator. However, the on-screen timer will continue running even during restroom breaks.

  18. How do I know when the exam time has ended?
    There will be an on-screen timer on the top right corner of your screen which will count down from 1 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates are advised to check this timer regularly and allocate their time carefully. A pop-up window will appear before the exam ends to alert candidates.

  19. Will I be able to leave early if I finish the exam before the allocated exam time has ended?
    No, candidates will not be allowed to leave the centre until the entire duration of the exam is up with the exception of genuine medical conditions.

  20. What are the types of result of AIAPGET?
    AIIA/MoA shall be declaring the results as a common merit list separately for Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy streams.

  21. How will the tie of marks be solved? What is the tie-breaking criteria?
    In case two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the competitive entrance examination, their inter se merit will be determined based on rules and regulations as per the concerned State/institute/universities rules.
