Indian Army Service Entry Recruitment

The Indian Army offers special entries for the Indian army soldiers who have passion to step up and become officers in the organization. It is known as Service Entry which provides ample opportunities to its soldiers to become an army officer.

Types of Service Entries

There are three types of Service Entries:

ACC Entry:
The ACC or Army Cadet College Wing is to train soldiers from the regular army, navy and air force for commission as Officers in the Indian Army. The ACC feeds into the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun. The training at ACC is quite identical to that of NDA. It runs a three-year degree course in science and humanities. The selection for admission to ACC is based on a written test and subsequent selection via Services Selection Board (SSB) .
Training Academy: ACC Wing at IMA, Dehradun
Duration of Training: Four Years (Three Years in ACC Wing & One Year at IMA)
PC (SL) Entry:
PC (SL) also known as Permanent Commission Special List, is another type of entry similar to that of ACC entry with just minor changes.
Training Academy: AEC Centre & College, Pachmarhi & IMA, Dehradun
Duration of Training: Eight Weeks at AEC Centre & College, Pachmarhi & Four Weeks at IMA, Dehradun
SCO Entry:
SCO entry is another type entry for soldiers, through this entry soldiers with 32 years of age can also apply. They do get chance even when they have reached the ranks of Hav and JCOs.
Training Academy: OTA, Gaya
Duration of Training: Eight Weeks at AEC Centre & College, Pachmarhi & One Year at OTA, Gaya

PC (SL)

Likely Date of SSB: Sep and Oct for Jul Course

SCO

Tentative Month of Publication of Notification: Notified by MP Directorate / AGs Br through Units in Apr and Jul
Likely Date of SSB: Jul/Aug for Jan Course & Nov/Dec for Jul Course

Service Entry Eligibility Criteria

Age

ACC Entry: The age of the candidate should be between 20 to 27 years as on the date of applying. They should have a minimum of two years of service as a soldier.
PC (SL) Entry: The age of the candidate should be between 32-40 years as on the date of applying.
SCO Entry: The age of the candidate should not be more than 40 years, 45 years for Engineers & 45 years for IOB. They should have a minimum of ten years of service.

Educational Qualification

ACC Entry: Candidates should have successfully completed their class 12 in 10 2 pattern or other equivalent examination.
PC (SL) Entry: The candidates should have done their matric and above.
SCO Entry: The candidates should have done their matric with One Year Diploma or above.

Marital Status

ACC Entry: Unmarried / Married
PC (SL) Entry: Unmarried / Married Serving JCOs / NCOs excluding
SCO Entry: Unmarried / Married

How to Apply for SCO, ACC and PC(SL) Entries

Since these entries are only for serving Indian army soldiers and not available in public domain. One needs to contact the concerned department of his unit to apply for such entries.
